  1. I am very interested in participating. I have been in Crossfit for 4 years and currently 7 months pregnant. I have been doing Crossfit through my pregnancy (sometimes 2x a day) and will continue until birth.
I weighed 115lbs pre- pregnancy and my height is 5’5″. Currently at 7 mo pregnant, I am 138 lbs- it’s all belly!
The only things I have scaled are push ups- I use rest my hands on stacked weights to get the full deep push ups, I use a thin band for pull ups and I avoid handstand push up because I am told they don’t allow proper blood flow to my baby.

I have no back aches, no leg cramps, no nausea or bad cravings.

    • I did hspu while pregnant that is a load of rubbish that you cannot do them.while u are upside down the baby is in its natural state and has so much fluid around it,it’s protected.the hspu movement releases pressure off ur pelvis so no what you have been told is false.i had my professionals tell me it was fine and I did hspu and head stands right through my pregnancy with no complications.but if ur body doesn’t like to do that movement or u feel in pain then obviously u shouldn’t do them.in my case I was fine doing every movement apart from running because it caused too much pressure on my pelvis and my baby was sitting very low with her head on my bladder.

  3. Not sure if you are looking for pregnant women doing crossfit or not. I’m just starting my 30th week and have been doing crossfit this entire pregnancy. However the first pregnancy I chose the lazy route and gained a ridiculous amount of weight. I truly believe my energy, weight control and general overall health this pregnancy is due to crossfit!!

  5. Hi! I would love to share my experiences. I just found out I am pregnant on Saturday (2 days ago) and spoke with my nurse this morning who said “no more than 25 pounds.” I instantly started doing research and came across your blog! I would love to share, and also have an outlet to talk with others about the same thing! Let me know what I can do 🙂

  7. Kia Ora from Christchurch New Zealand.i am currently 22 weeks + 6 days pregnant with a baby girl, due 19 October 2015.this is my 1st baby.ever since I found out I was pregnant in Jan 2015 I’ve been continuing to CrossFit.i have been crossfitting for 3.5 years.my box is CrossFit TRAILBLAZER in Christchurch New Zealand,owner/director Kyp Kotzikas.i attend 4-5 classes per week along with playing netball, mountain biking & walking hills.i still lift heavy e.g 145kg 3 rep deadlifts, 100kg 3 rep back squats, 80kg 3 rep front squats, bench press 60kgs 3 reps, overhead squat 55kgs 5 reps, can still climb ropes. Only pretty much scale gymnastic movements as my weight has gone from 80kgs to 95kgs.i don’t do any full chest/belly to ground burpees as it hurts my tummy.i box step box jumps or I will piss my pants lol. I do handstand push ups with a 20kg plate under the head pad.pulls ups r done with a green band.i still throw a 16kg & 24kg kettle bell over my head with no worries.i rest when ever I feel like it,drink tons of water.i have taken video and pictures of my trainings on a weekly basis to share my journey with all my friends and family.i would love to be part of your blog:)

  8. I’m 8 weeks pregnant, a fitness professional and ultra marathon runner. I do Crossfit 3x a week and run anywhere from 25-35 miles a week. Pre-pregnqncy I was running 40-55 miles a week. This is my first pregnancy that I plan to workout through, until the end. I have a 15 year old son. (I’m 37) would love to share my journey from the position of a personal trainer.

  9. Currently 9 weeks pregnant and have been crossfitting for 3 years now. I current belong to the Iamcrossfit family and CF at Vida Brickell. So many people have their judgements about CF in general that I know I will take a lot of crap for doing it while I’m pregnant but I know many have done it and I know my limits. The CF community has been very supportive of my decision to CF while I’m pregnant and my coach has been great at giving advice on what I can’t do such as hand stand push-ups. I’m excited for this experience and plan to CF as long as I can.

  10. We are TTC, and every month I’m in doubt, what if I conceived, shall I already make some changes to my workouts before I got positive test?
Doctors here are no help at all, they are not going to advice anything regarding crossfit & pregnancy, most of them can’t even imagine woman with barbell.
Our box is new, and I’m not sure my coach is anyhow ready to have pregnant member, though he’s very competent and caring.
I’ve been in sports my whole life except big break since 24 to approx. 27. With my first pregnancy at 20 I had been keeping freestyle fighting workout till month 6 or 7, then switched to swimming (just when my belly started to grow).
Now I’m 31, and this baby – if he or she is to happen anywhen – is a lifetime dream. However I would love to stay as active as possible and as long as possible. The trick is that I switched to crossfit not that long ago, and it’s challenging to me even without pregnancy. I’m afraid that I can’t anymore rely on my self feeling, so can harm pregnancy.
I’ve read that jumping shall be totally excluded – is that really so? I’m pretty ready to agree, because it really shakes ^^ However, is that really that dangerous at early pregnancy, or only when belly is any big and not supported with muscles?

    Thanks for tips in advance!

    • Oksana,
While I’m CrossFit Level 1, I am not a doctor nor do I train anyone else. All I can recommend is that you listen to your body and work closely with your coach and doctor to ensure you and the baby remain healthy {when the time comes}. I wore a heart rate monitor starting my first trimester and found that a range between 150-160 was good metabolic conditioning for me when pregnant. This would obviously vary by athlete. I was also very careful during my first trimester since that was the most critical. By the third trimester, I was setting new PRs for myself. Give yourself time. Don’t hesitate to scale. Talk with your coach. It is hard to step back, but listening to your body is your number one priority!

  11. I am now 37+ weeks pregnant and have done crossfit through my entire pregnancy.no doctor, crossfit nor midwife can advise u on crossfit while pregnant unless they have done it them selves.i have never worn a heart rates monitor or any other fancy stuff.i have PR’d all my lifts while pregnant .you just have to listen to ur own body.no one knows it better than u.look at it this way I can’t run because it’s uncomfortable but yet I can deadlift lift 400 pounds squat 115kgs,row,handstand push up and do pull ups.some days I scale right down then others I RX+.i have no problems with the weightlifting but the gymnastics is pretty hard for me as I have put on 30kgs and find it hard to pull that extra weight.so I just scale right down and keep my weights heavy.i was told by so many people that doing handstand push ups wud turn baby and wasn’t good to do.i ran to my doctor and midwife and they laughed at me saying: what a load of rubbish! Baby is in a secure sack of water and it wud take a lot more than a Hspu to flip her around.just carry on as usual enjoy crossfit, rest and breathe when u need to.ur be fine😉there is no medical research of any woman in the world who has done crossfit while pregnant that has harmed themselves or their baby.look at the woman in Africa who r pregnant and walk miles to get water and food, climbing mountains and streams.they r the woman u should be reading and following.

  12. I have been crossfitting for 2 years and am 10 weeks pregnant. Due to a recent miscarriage I need to keep things low impact. No burpees, no box jumps, light jogging/walking for runs. This is my 3rd child, so my belly is rounding out already, but I think it looks more bloated than even pregnant yet. I was already not a small girl ( almost 200 lbs at only 5 feet) but I have some good lifts. 275# back squat, 315# dead lift. Upper body not as strong, unfortunately. I am hoping to only gain about 10lbs, but am a little worried that having to go “easy” will deter that. I only gained 25 lbs with the first 2 kids, but that was 8 years ago and I already weigh more than when I did giving birth!

I love my CF community- and I know they will be there 100% along the way. Nice to see other pregnant women still being able to do their full abilities though. Maybe in my 2nd trimester the doc will lift the low impact. ???? (One could hope!)

  13. Hey there.gosh where do I start.i had a 4 hour labour and squatted over the end of the bed and pushed once and my baby came out with no problems.i had no drugs and it was pain free. Crossfitting while pregnant right up till the day I gave birth 38 weeks helped give my baby loads of oxygen and great blood circulation around my body which helped my muscles, bones and internal organs produce and nice healthy placenta.

  14. Baby #3 on the way… 2nd pregnancy crossfitting regularly. Baby number two came during my “practice push”. I literally laughed her out, and my OB had to quickly pull her sleeves over her hands to catch her, as her gloves weren’t on yet! Due March 1 with this busy baby. Praying for a deliver equally as easy 🙂

  15. I am currently trying to get pregnant with my first baby. I am 34 years old and have been doing Crossfit for 7 years now. I am very knowledgeable about Crossfit as I am also Crossfit level 1 certified, however I am completely clueless to pregnancy! As a trainer and a participant it would be so benificial to learn from other ladies who have done Crossfit during pregnancy and gain some insights! How can I join this group?

    • Hi Traci! Most of us featured here have been through the trial and success (or error) of pregnancy + CrossFit. There is no one right formula (unfortunately) – for getting pregnant or what you experience during pregnancy. It’s all about listening to your body, fueling your body, and enjoying your partner (ha!). Please read the blog and know there’s an army of women (and men) supporting your journey! xoxo
